COVID-19: South Korea reports first death and 53 new cases in single day
On Feb 20, South Korea confirmed its first death from COVID-19. The 63-year-old patient had been bedridden for more than 20 years at a hospital. The country also saw a surge in new cases with 53 confirmed in a single day, taking the country's total to 104. Health authorities warned that the virus has begun spreading locally. All but two of the new infections were reported in the southeastern regions of Daegu and North Gyeongsang.
