How come the small-sized Pterosaur species did not survive the Cretaceous mass extinction along with the birds? Were there no small species anymore? Did birds and Pterousaurs differ in their diet which changed durng the mass extinction? Or is it because birds were warm-blooded while Pterosaurs were not?

My favorite, however, is still Thylacosmilus, the metatherian saber-toothed "cat," which is a very distant relation of the other two - last common ancestor in the Cretaceous.

Africa was actually an isolated continent at some geological point, and Hyainailouridae preserved their status as hypercarnivores while already extinct in Eurasia. 2. Simbakubwa regularly preyed upon pachyderms (elephants and rhinoceros) with three pairs of carnassials, whose ecological niche is nonexistent in today’s Sub-Saharan megafauna.
